Claude Studio: Make 3D Animated Reels with Claude Code
The reel you just watched was not made with an AI video generator. Claude Code wrote every scene as React code: the 3D characters and city in Three.js, the timing and edits in Remotion, the motion graphics as HTML animations.
Because it is code, Claude can render still frames, look at them, spot problems (a caption covering a face, a label shown twice) and fix them before the final render. Then Remotion renders the MP4 on your own computer, frame by frame.
You need a Claude plan with Claude Code and Node.js. Remotion is free for individuals and small teams of up to 3 people (bigger companies need a license), and Three.js is free and open source. The voices in our reel came from ElevenLabs, which is optional.
Prompts & steps
- Install Node.js and Claude Code (included with the Claude Pro and Max plans)
- Create a project: npx create-video --yes --blank my-video then cd my-video
- Add the Remotion skills for Claude: npx remotion skills add
- Start the preview with npm run dev, then open a second terminal in the same folder and run: claude
- Prompt your video, for example: "make a 30 second 3D reel with two talking cube characters using Three.js". Ask Claude to render stills and check them, then render the final MP4 with npx remotion render
